As one of the nation’s leading Internet advertisement firms, Outrank.com reviews Google’s new “Instant” feature and concludes it is both, cleverly cool but potentially cumbersome or even confusing to the average consumer. Google’s Instant feature provides near instant search results in real-time while the user is still typing in the search words or phrases. The idea is to provide an at-a-glance list of search result options before the user even clicks on the search button to initiate a query.
While the convenience of viewing instant results is intriguing by most standards, the initial results that appear before the completed phrase is typed in can potentially be irrelevant and in some cases, misleading. Internet marketing consultants who work hand-in-hand with Google and are familiar with its back-end processes are currently reviewing the feature to determine its strengths, weaknesses, value and ease-of-use.
Outrank.com, who specializes in providing Internet marketing solutions for small to mid-size businesses makes it a priority to know the kind of results the searches are producing when certain words are typed in the search field. This especially holds true when Outrank has taken on a new client and begins the optimization process to get that client ranked on the first page of the major search engines. Are the search results yielding front page placement for clients when the most relevant terms specific to that client’s industry are typed in? This, for apparent reasons is a primary concern for Outrank in regards to how Google’s new INSTANT feature may have an impact on the search process.
At least, in its initial early stages, the Google INSTANT feature seems only to speed up the search rather than change up how the results are tallied. Though, there is some indication of assumptive search results occurring such as typing in “plumber Austin”, the INSTANT feature initially brought up a plumbing supply company rather than an actual plumber. Assumptive results are what could potentially be misleading or inaccurate.
Yet, for all the quirkiness in its early stages, there is some assurance knowing that for how innovative Google is in coming out with cool new apps and features, they are equally adept at perfecting their processes. In this respect, Outrank.com realizes that Google’s INSTANT feature may in fact, be the next evolution in online searching that could help revolutionize one’s overall, Internet experience.
